About Us

Dr. Conrad envisioned this site as a means to promote communication and discussion on the important, and often underappreciated, issue of the effects smoking has on the musculoskeletal system.

Dr. Conrad graduated from medical school in 1969, and following military service, completed an orthopedic residency in 1977. Dr. Conrad then entered full-time practice of orthopedic surgery at Seton Medical Center where he continues to work with Peninsula Orthopedic Associates.

Since 1977, Dr. Conrad has enjoyed an active professional life. In addition to the orthopedic treatment of injuries and diseases of the musculoskeletal system, Dr. Conrad performs consultations and evaluations in the area of workers’ compensation and participates in the education of orthopedic residents.

Dr. Conrad has also developed an interest in patient education. He has had the opportunity to develop several orthopedic booklets through Krames Communication, and continues to serve on a national committee for the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgery: The Committee on Public Education. In 2004, he became President of the Medical Staff at Seton Medical Center, a position he continues to serve.
